Study on adaptation characteristics of vascular elasticity among female athletes in different sports

Abstract

Summary Objectives The purpose of\xa0this study was to compare and analyse the different effects of long-term endurance training and sprint training on vascular elasticity, reveal vascular elasticity characteristics in athletes. Equipment and methods Fourteen female long-distance runners (aged 19.9\xa0±\xa00.8 years), 14 female sprinters (aged 20.2\xa0±\xa00.9 years) and 14 female college students (aged 18.8\xa0±\xa00.6 years) of non-sports majors were selected as subjects. They were tested the indexes at\xa0rest, including arterial pulse wave conduction velocity (PWV) and arm ankle index (ABI), mean arterial pressure percentage (%MAP), pulse wave rise time (UT), body mass index (BMI), blood pressure. Results The sprinters\xa0group (SG) are significantly higher than the control group (CG) in PWV (SG 1181.79\xa0±\xa094.29\xa0cm/s, CG 960.71\xa0±\xa077.66\xa0cm/s, P
