Implementation of DQ0 control methods in high power electronics devices for renewable energy sources, energy storage and FACTS

Abstract

Abstract Modern power systems include a mixture of classic rotating machines, inverter-interfaced distributed generators, renewable energy sources, and energy storage systems. In addition, power electronics-based devices are becoming a key component of modern power grids. In this light, this paper focuses on d q 0 -based control methods that are used in power electronics-based devices. The paper explains and compares how d q 0 control techniques are used in various types of grid-connected systems, such as photovoltaic inverters, BESS, HVDC, UPFC, STATCOM, and active power filters.
