Metal-containing and magnetic ionic liquids in analytical extractions and gas separations
Abstract
Abstract Metal-containing ionic liquids (MCILs) and magnetic ionic liquids (MILs) have recently demonstrated great potential for analytical extractions and gas separations. Their tunable-physicochemical properties have allowed the design and implementation of solvents that possess unique selectivity towards various analytes. In this review, recent applications and advancements of MILs in analytical extractions are discussed. Novel methodologies for nucleic acid analysis and automated applications are highlighted. In addition, recent advancements of MCILs in facilitated transport membranes and gas chromatography are discussed.
