Optimization of Technical Monitoring Processes

Abstract

Abstract The paper substantiates the relevance of implementing high-quality and timely monitoring to ensure the efficiency of technical operation of machines. It also describes potential ways to implement it: continuous and discrete monitoring of the technical condition. When solving problems of optimization of technical monitoring processes, it is necessary to take into account both the costs of late maintenance, determined by the probability of resource loss, and the possibility of operating costs from early maintenance, caused by incomplete use of the resource of machine elements. Two methods of optimization of technical condition control processes are proposed: the calculation of probabilistic unit costs and a risk-based approach to the organization of machine maintenance. Examples of using methods for optimizing technical monitoring to determine the cost-effective frequency of maintenance are given. The proposed approaches to the organization of monitoring in particular and to maintenance in general will improve the efficiency of technical operation through timely maintenance and optimization of the “cost – reliability” ratio.
