Highlights • Intercostal neuralgia and latissimus dorsi muscle jerks can occur after posterolateral thoracotomy.• Clinical neurophysiology helps to determine targeted treatments for the different neuromuscular pathologies.• Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome increases the predisposition of iatrogenic nerve injuries.
