Detection of bone metastases in uterine cancer: How common are they and should PET/CT be the standard for diagnosis?

Abstract

Highlights • Osseous metastasis (OM) were found in 5% of endometrial cancers (EMCA), with predilection for type II histologies.• Patients with serous EMCA had significantly higher odds of developing OM when compared to all other histologies.• PET/CT appeared superior to conventional CT scans in diagnosing OM.
