Abstract

The manuscript is based on the dosimetric and clinical outcome of a prospective phase II study in locally advanced cervical cancer patients to evaluate the feasibility and safety to deliver HDR brachytherapy in a single application and multiple fractions delivering >84 Gy EQD2 to the adaptive target while achieving strict dose constraints to organs at risk. We believe that this is the first prospective study evaluating feasibility of delivering brachytherapy over 2 days in single BT application for cervical cancer. This study also has major implications in BT practice to improve the patient compliance and cost minimization in LMIC and HIC settings.
