Determination of influence of grain size factor on the corrosion speed of structural steel
Abstract
Abstract The work included corrosion tests of heat-treated samples made of structural steel in sea water. Studies of prepared microsections on a scanning electron microscope were carried out. Microsections were pre-etched in a 3% nitric acid solution to reveal grain boundaries. Using specialized SIAMS 700 software, grain size distributions were determined. Based on the obtained data, the grain size factor of the system is determined, which is compared with the corrosion rate of the samples in sea water.
