Harmonization of breast cancer radiotherapy treatment planning in the Netherlands

Abstract

Highlights • Results of a breast cancer planning study with 4 cases conducted in the Netherlands are reported.• A guideline for evaluation of breast cancer radiotherapy treatment plans has been established.• The dosimetric parameters D98%, Dmean and D2% are adopted for target volume dose evaluation.• For the heart and lungs, Dmean is adopted as the most important dosimetric parameter.
