Abstract

A light-controlled nano-switch was assembled by mesoporous silica-coated gold nanorods with tetrazolyl phthalocyanines. This nano-switch exhibited synergistic photothermal and photodynamic inactivation of antibiotic-resistant Escherichia coli.
