Abstract

However, the administration of platelet-rich plasma or even albumin alone leads to a prompt reversal of ticagrelor effects because ticagrelor has a high binding affinity to albumin (>99%).2,3 Moreover, sorbent hemadsorption is able to eliminate ticagrelor directly from the blood with minimal potential rebound effects but needs approximately 3 hours to be effective.4 Use of the antibody will probably be limited to very rare cases in which other measures have not worked.
