Environmental health education strategies through making local plant sanitizers and their use for package B study group students in Jakarta

 
 

Abstract


The DKI Jakarta Government implements the Package B Study Group program for students who can t afford it, one of which is SMPN138 Jakarta. For entrepreneurship, students are given the knowledge about environmental health such as making hand sanitizers. The purpose of this study was to determine the acceptance of students after being given training in making hand sanitizers. This research is a descriptive quantitative study with the lesson study method. The data obtained from surveys and observations. There are 31 students. The knowledge given to students is about making hand sanitizers and sanitizers for practicum equipment with glycerin, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, and the aroma of plant extracts. The research strategy is the application of learning methods through discussion, training, and evaluation. Data collected through questionnaires and interviews. The results showed that 81% of participants were satisfied with the implementation of the training organized by UNJ. Then the indicators state that the training and mentoring activities carried out by UNJ add insight and knowledge in making hand sanitizers and environmental health (74%) the rest disagree. The training indicators provided meet the participants needs (74%), with the assessment saying they strongly agree and 26% of people disagree. Furthermore, for the indicators of the quality of guidance that followed up on any questions or difficulties of the participants, 90% stated that they were always followed up or explained by the supervisor. The last indicator states that 28 people (90%) strongly agree with the training program to be continued and 3 people disagree with the sustainability of the Community Empowerment program.
