Simulation and experimental approaches for design and development of high-speed elevator

Abstract

The increase in the number of skyscrapers demands swift elevators. Skyscrapers are today s needs and swift elevators are the need for these skyscrapers. The elevators used presently are cable based having slow motion and many disadvantages. This paper deals with a completely new type of elevator which works on magnetism. Hence, enabling us to remove the ropes, pulleys, gears etc there by reducing the material used which in turn helps to increase the speed & reduce the wear & tear. In this study, many trials are performed using different core material for deducing the diameter of moveable coil, checking effective field length and finalizing material for movable coil, finally ends up in fabricating the elevator which operates smoothly with high speed.
