Calculating the radiation spectrum of pulsed x-ray sources based on semiconductor opening switches
Abstract
In this paper we calculate the spectral composition of pulsed X-ray radiation sources. The calculation is based on the current and voltage oscillograms. The spectra were obtained for two pulsed X-ray sources: one source has a maximum voltage of 95\u2005kV, the other - 320\u2005kV. In these sources, semiconductor opening switches are used as both a nanosecond pulse compressor and a voltage multiplier. The difference between the spectrum of a pulsed X-ray radiation source and the spectrum of an X-ray continuous radiation source is shown. In this paper we calculate the radiation attenuation after passing through aluminum filters and also measure it experimentally, then we compare the obtained results. The paper also indicates the contribution of characteristic radiation to the total spectrum of a pulsed X-ray source, and the difference from the continuous X-ray source is shown as well.
