Abstract

This Special Issue of Powder Metallurgy contains a collection of research papers selected in the 16th International Symposium on Novel and Nano Materials (ISNNM) held in Jeju, Republic of Korea, one of the most beautiful islands in Asia from November 3 to November 6, 2020. The 16th ISNNM was organised by the Korean Powder Metallurgy Institute (KPMI), TU Wien and Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science of Polish Academy of Science. This international symposium was originally planned to be held in Vienna, Austria in July 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID19 pandemic and eventually held in Korea in November of the same year. The 16th ISNNM focused on the overall researches on the nanomaterials including Advanced Materials Processing, Advanced Powder Metallurgy, Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) and MIM, Characterisation and Modelling, Energy and Functional Materials, Nanocomposites and Nanoporous Materials, Rare Metals and Recycling, Refractory Metals and Hard Materials. In the 16th ISNNM, the latest researches and a state-of-the-art overview of technology in the category of powder metallurgy were presented and discussed. Symposium sessions also included online and offline plenary and invited lectures from distinguished scholars discussing topic ranging from the most recent discovered materials to the latest techniques of production. Manufacture’s contributions and exhibits were very useful to promote further interaction between the science and the industry. All selected papers of this special issue went through the peer review process as set by Powder Metallurgy and its publisher, Taylor & Francis. We wish to express our sincere thanks to all the contributors and the staff members of Powder Metallurgy and Taylor & Francis for the publication of the Special Issue on 16th ISNNM.
