Desmoplastic small round cell tumour with ovarian involvement: a case report
Abstract
A desmoplastic small round cell tumour (DSRCT) is a rare and highly aggressive sarcoma that originates from the serosal surfaces of the abdominal cavity. Most patients with DSRCT present with advanced tumour stage accompanied by distant metastasis and peritoneal seeding at diagnosis. DSRCT generally occurs in adolescents and young adults and has a strong male predominance. DSRCT with ovarian involvement is extremely rare. Here, we report a case of DSRCT with ovarian involvement that occurred in a young woman.
