Enfoques y problemáticas teórico-metodológicos de los estudios migratorios sobre Iberoamérica: el caso de la emigración catalana a Paraguay (1870–1932)
Abstract
ABSTRACT Perspectives based on costs and economic benefits of supply and demand in the labor market have not been able to thoroughly resolve questions arising in migration studies, even when they were individualistic or more structural, or studied from macro or micro focus. This article seeks to overcome some of these limitations by applying a three-level analysis: a macro level analysis, represented by the relationship between immigration and the State; a meso level analysis, represented by cultural relations; and a micro level analysis, represented by immigrant networks. This type of multi-level analysis allows us to see three prisms and three different scales of migration, giving an overview of the problem without neglecting the peculiarities of the case study.
