Indication For Early Surgery in the Treatment of Infective Endocarditis
Abstract
Objective: In recent years, improvements in the outcome of early operation on infective endocarditis have been reported. Along with that, international guidelines mention indication for early surgery on infective endocarditis. Early indications are 1Refractory heart failure 2Uncontrolled infection 3Prevention of systemic embolism within 2 weeks after diagnosis. We sought to evaluate the validity of the recommendation by applying our recent clinical results to the current guideline. We compared surgery group with non-surgery group.
