Vulnerability Analysis of Urban Road Networks Based on Adaptive Signal Control

Abstract

In the real environment, urban road networks (URNs) are often threatened by internal and external disruptions. Given that URNs tend to suffer from the capacity degradation caused by these disruptions, how to minimize losses is the key focus of traffic research. In this study, we propose a day-to-day dynamic evolution model for traffic assignment to analyze the vulnerability of urban road networks under different signal control strategies. The analysis of the vulnerability of a small road network shows that different adaptive signal control strategies can affect the vulnerability of urban road networks.
