40th International Deep-Drawing Research Group Conference 2021

Abstract

The 40th International Deep-Drawing Research Group Conference was held on June 21st - July 2nd, 2021 as an online event organized by the Institute for Metal Forming Technology (IFU) at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. The Conference was chaired by Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h. c. Mathias Liewald MBA. Main goal of conference was to bring together acknowledged experts from industry and members of the academic community to join in an exciting as well as connecting online venue of the highly established International Deep-Drawing Research Group due to the worldwide pandemic situation. Beyond this year’s conference topic entitled Digital Technologies in Sheet Metal Forming multiple technical aspects of sheet metal forming or processing were included, such as behaviour of sheet materials, formability, tools, tribology, joining by forming, further aspects in process robustness, simulation methods and advanced experiments.
