Optimization of Polyphase Orthogonal sequences for MIMO Radar Using Genetic Algorithm with Hamming Scan

 
 

Abstract


The MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) Radar can efficiently improve the radar performance by transmitting particularly designed orthogonal waveforms. In this paper, a hybrid algorithm is proposed with the combination of Genetic Algorithm and Hamming scan Algorithm to numerically optimize the polyphase orthogonal sequences. A cost function which includes the peak side-lobe level ratio(PSLR) of auto correlation and cross correlation function is used for sequence generation. The impact of Doppler ambiguity on the generated sequences is also analyzed. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm gives better peak average autocorrelation and cross correlation values as compared to other methods.
