Abstract

The conventional fault-diagnosis methods have limitations to clearly distinguish the battery faults in advance because these are focus on the cell-to-cell inconsistency in the present point. Therefore, this paper proposes a comprehensive prognosis method for detecting the over-discharge and cell-to-cell variance based on the maximum available current. To predict the maximum available current, the real-time parameter identification and multi-variate autoregressive model because the battery is nonlinear time-varying systems. By prognosis of the maximum available current based on the cell-voltage sequences, the proposed prediction method can determine the operating strategy. The proposed method is verified by the experimental results, which occur the over-discharge and cell-to-cell inconsistency in the battery pack.
