Abstract

The energy storage system(ESS) can not only be employed for power system restoration to accelerate system restoration, but also be utilized to control voltage and frequency variation caused by the renewable energy and load pickup fluctuations. At present, there are many researches about the restoration sequence optimization of generators and transmission lines, but few about the coordinated operation of ESS and restored generators for load restoration. Therefore, a coordinated operation method of ESS and power generators for load restoration are proposed in this paper. The objective of proposed method is to maximize the amount of critical loads restoration while guaranteeing the safety of restored system. Fuzzy chance constrained is introduced to deal with the uncertainty of load, as well as taking full consideration of safety constraints. The test on IEEE39 system demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method. Simulation results indicate that the coordination method of ESS and power generators can restore as much critical loads as possible, meanwhile, ensure the security of system restoration.
