MACKEY II fed inside AMC substrate
Abstract
The Meta-surface inspired Antenna Chip developed by KIT EOE Laboratory (MACKEY, Wi-Fi 2.4GHz band), is an electrically small antenna that is sufficiently robust to metal objects. However, there has been a demand to make the basic type even thinner because it is 4mm thick. Therefore, a new model, named MACKEY II (Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz band), with broadband characteristics and reduced thickness is proposed. It is adapted to create a new structure, where the antenna substrate is placed inside the AMC substrate to create a thinner dimension than the basic type. In this paper, the characteristics and feeding method of MACKEY II are presented, along with, the measurement results.
