Abstract

Electrochemical energy storage as an effective means to regulate the flexibility of power grid will contribute to the safe and stable operation of power system. This paper analyzes the participation of electrochemical energy storage in auxiliary services of the power system under two different demand scenarios on the grid side and the user side, which has certain research significance. Firstly, according to the working mechanism of the primary and secondary frequency modulation of the power system, a two-region interconnected power system frequency modulation model is established, and based on the principle of equivalence of external characteristics of electrochemical energy storage, the frequency modulation model with electrochemical energy storage on the grid side is given. Then, an energy storage configuration model based on time-of use electricity price is put forward, which fully considers the full life-cycle cost and benefit of the energy storage device, and plays an active role in promoting the commercialization of user-side energy storage applications. Finally, different case studies are carried out on the grid side and the user side, and the corresponding capacity configuration methods and evaluation indicators under different scenarios are discussed.
