A Strategy for Eliminating Harmonics in Three-phae System with Harmonic Generators

Abstract

A strategy for eliminating harmonics from the output of three-phase inverters is proposed with an idea of a special harmonic generator, which is characteristic in structure with a multi-phase round-shaped transformer for synthesizing the desired harmonics electromagnetically. To control the harmonics in magnitude and ingredient that mainly depended on auxiliary inverters, space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) is improved with special consideration of the round-shaped transformer. Power consumption of the harmonic generator is much less than that of the total system as it is mainly used for producing harmonics rather than the transfer of electrical power.
