A Novel Finite-Control-Set Model Predictive Voltage Control for Dynamic Improvement of Wireless Power Transfer Systems

Abstract

In order to mitigate the impact of load changes and external interferences on the stability of wireless power transfer (WPT) systems, the control strategy with excellent dynamic performance and disturbance rejection capability should be used. Therefore, a novel finite-control-set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) is proposed for the voltage control of WPT systems in this paper. This method is implemented on the basis of a discrete dynamic voltage model, and its operation mechanism is given detailly and intuitively. Moreover, the tradeoff between computational burden and dynamic performance is removed by introducing an adaptive step-size. An improved cost function also is presented to accelerate the convergence rate and improve the disturbance rejection capability. Finally, simulation results are given to validate the capability of the novel FCS-MPC.
