Abstract

This work proposes a implementation of a generic load torque emulator using PWM inverters and induction machines, as a continuation of a previous work, whose implementation has used a load simulator, using scalar type control. This one will also be described in this paper and took place at the electrical drives laboratory of UNIFEI (Federal University of Itajubá – Brazil), to aid the understanding of this proposed alternative continuation work, using vector control. Different types of loads, as the most commonly found in industry, such as constant load torque, speed dependent linear load torque, speed dependent quadratic load torque and others, will be considered. It is intended that with the use of the proposed workbench, the determination of the tested motors performance will be available. The torque signal, to be registered, is originated from the motor pulse-width modulation inverter, torque transducer, isq current. Experimental results will be presented and discussed.
