Design of Active Tunable Wide Frequency Covering Absorber

 
 

Abstract


In this paper, a new and simple active frequency selective surface (AFSS) topology for the ultra-wideband -10dB absorption bandwidth is presented where the wideband tunability has been achieved using the NXPBAP70-03 p-i-n diode. The -10 dB absorption bandwidth of the structure extend from 1.7-11.58GHz with a total 147.48%. In addition, it also demonstrate the strong reflection property for the certain value of the resistance (R=36.667Ω) and capacitance (C=0.01pF) combinations. Thus, it can find the application as the reflector and absorber in the sub-12 GHz electromagnetic spectrum. Other experimental results would be presented during the conference.
