Abstract

This paper presents the radiation influence on integrated magnetic inductors properties. Characterizations have been performed with an impedance-meter and a vector network analyzer on gamma and proton irradiated inductors. Concerning gamma radiation, characterization has been performed for dose levels comprised between 1 to 100 kGy. The results show that inductors properties have not been modified by γ-rays. For 480 MeV proton radiation, characterization is done with a fluence varying between 2.5 1010 and 2.5 1011 p/cm2. The results proved an increase of the conductor resistivity by 22% and an increase of the coupling capacitance by a factor of x2 for the considered radiation conditions. On the other hand, the magnetic permeability remains unchanged in our test conditions.
