Simple Reactive Power Control Method of an Active Power-Line Conditioner in Three-Phase Four-Wire Feeders

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Abstract


This paper presents a simple reactive power control method using a constant DC-capacitor voltage control (CDVC) block of active power-line conditioners (APLCs) in three-phase four-wire low-voltage feeder (TPFWLVF). The basic principle of the proposed method using a CDVC block is discussed considering the instantaneous active power flowing in the APLC. A digital computer simulation using the PSIM software is implemented. A laboratory-scale prototype is built and proved. Simulation and experimental results confirm that the proposed method with the CDVC block attains the balanced-sinusoidal source currents with a predetermined power factor in TPFWLVFs.
