New Proposal of 80-krpm High-Speed Surface-Mounted Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor

 
 
 

Abstract


This paper proposes the design and analysis of a 13-kW 80-krpm high-speed surface-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) for a new energy vehicles cell centrifugal compressor. To satisfy the specification of high efficiency and power density, the number of poles and slots were determined by considering the electromagnetic performance and the losses. Furthermore, this paper describes the selection of appropriate materials and the appropriate topology design based on analytical method. The main sources of motor losses were calculated. The finite element analysis (FEA) results show the validity of the proposed design process and the motor performance.
