Abstract

A two-stage solution strategy for alleviating line overloads based on transmission switching is proposed in this paper. This stage solution strategy mainly includes screening and ranking stage, detailed analysis stage, aiming to provide a group of high-quality solutions to deal with the line overload problems and can be applied to the online application of a large power grid. Based on the accurate AC power flow calculation results, the calculation accuracy of the two-stage solution strategy is compared. In addition, this paper compared with methods in other literature to analyze its computational efficiency. The effectiveness of the two-stage solution strategy proposed in this paper is verified based on the IEEE 39-bus system. The simulation results show that it has fast calculation speed and high solution accuracy, and can be extended to large power grids.
