Modeling of Short-Term Electric Motor Load Power Supply Disturbances in the Matlab (Simulink) Systema

Abstract

One of the fundamental objectives to be solved in designing emergency control devices like high-speed bus transfer (HSBT) is to shape its structure and operation algorithm. These can only be synthesized based on studying and analyzing steady-state regimes and transients under the conditions of typical emergency modes (symmetric and asymmetric short-circuit faults, power supply source tripping by relay protection, and a phase open-circuit fault). Numerical experiments carried out on mathematical models of an industrial power supply system involving connected synchronous and induction motors implemented using the Matlab Simulink software system made it possible to determine the key functional modules of the HSBT fault detector. The performance adequacy of the synthesized fault detector was verified using a software emulator of the real control device, for which the parameters of electric power supply system emergency modes were used as input data.
