Static layout and dynamic migration method of a large-scale container

 
 
 

Abstract


With the continuous development of virtualization technology, containers, as a lightweight virtualization technology, have become an indispensable part of supporting Internet services. In the era of big data flow, in order to meet the huge demand for business traffic, the container platform will bear the expansion demand of hundreds of thousands of containers, which greatly increases the cost of machine resources. In the short-term scenario of huge business traffic demand, we hope to use as few machine resources as possible to meet the cost savings of resources through reasonable container static layout and dynamic migration ability, so cluster-scale container layout has become the focus of this article. Based on this, a container scale layout algorithm is proposed to reduce the fragmentation of container layout, so as to effectively improve the utilization rate of machine resources and achieve the goal of cost saving. Experiments show that the algorithm can effectively prevent the occurrence of fragmentation and reduce resource waste in the large-scale layout of containers.
