FFT based Classification of Solar Photo Voltaic Microgrid System
Abstract
This paper deals with the classification of three phase inverters based on current waveform at inverter output terminals under various conditions. This has been done by studying different types of inverter models used in microgrid system employing Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) Diodes, Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) Diodes, Gate Turn On (GTO) Diodes, Ideal Switches, Switching-function based Voltage Source Converters (VSC), Thyristor, Diodes and Average-model based Voltage Source Converters (VSC) units. Here, an effort has been made to present the performance of different inverters used in solar based microgrid system with the help of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) tools. Various data have been measured just after the inverter output side. Several computer simulations have been executed using the measured current and different important factors has been determined to validate the work. Eventually, comparing the acquired data and analyzing different behavior of the inverters, the FFT based classification of micro grid has been framed.
