Abstract


There are a unit over billions of visually impaired people world-wide. A significant part of this population remains blind even in developed countries. The Smart Blind Stick that we build can support the blind community by providing a much better and simpler way of life by moving independently. The obstacle is detected by the ultrasonic sensor and the distance is sent to the blind user as speech output. GPS is employed to seek out the precise location of the person in terms of meridian and latitude, this data is distributed to the caretaker through e-mail. Camera is employed to spot the obstacle or object ahead and the output is told to the blind user in speech kind. The camera conjointly identifies objects with words on them and image process these pictures to text and the text is regenerated to speech, therefore giving the speech output to the blind concerning what’s written on the board.
