Power generation characteristics of bifacial photovoltaic modules under different backgrounds

 

Abstract


In this paper, a power generation model of the bifacial PV module is proposed. The background reflectivity has a significant impact on power generation enhancement ratio for the bifacial PV module. Therefore, a study is conducted in this paper on the power generation characteristics of bifacial modules under eight different backgrounds. According to the research results, the bifacial PV module has a higher power generation enhancement ratio under the background of waterproof roll and white cement, reaching 21.9% and 18.3%, respectively. According to the experimental data, the power generation enhancement ratio of bifacial PV module tends to be high in summer but low in winter, and it decreases with the season. In sunny days, the power generation enhancement ratio of bifacial modules is high, but it is low when the day is cloudy and rainy.
