Cascaded H-bridge Multilevel Inverter Balancing for Energy-Power Based on VSG

 
 
 

Abstract


Multilevel cascaded H-bridge inverters allow direct connection without the presence of power transformers to medium-voltage distribution networks. The energy and power imbalance creates unexpected problems within this structure, which is designed to operate under balanced conditions. This paper presents cell and phase balance for power and energy of a 10-cell multilevel inverter cascaded H-bridge (CHB). The CHB inverter control for each stage leg used the type of phase-shifted carrier (PSCPWM). The control strategy based on the idea of a virtual synchronous generator (VSG) is used on the way to balance the power and energy distributed among cells in the same phase and between phases. Simulation result is presenting to verify the mathod for balance system. The results have been presented and carried out in MATLAB/SIMULINK software.
