Identification of Facial Image Based Detection Using Image Transformation Approach

Abstract

This paper describes how security is provided through the use of facial recognition. Discrete Cosine Transform is a technique used for identifying images based on the images that are already available in the database. Each image is split into parts, resulting in a spatial domain. It is then transformed to a frequency domain representation. The features present in each segment are extracted to obtain the detection of face based on the features extracted from the images present in database. Face recognition technique is extensively used for computing JPEG (joint photography expert group) image files and MPEG (moving photography expert group). Video files are familiar even to those who are not aware of the technology. When compared to DFT, the Discrete Cosine Transform is far more efficient.
