Message Opportunistic Forwarding Based on Overlapping Communities
Abstract
For the temporal and spatial features of nodes in opportunistic mobile social networks, we propose a message opportunistic forwarding algorithm based on overlapping communities (MOFOC). Firstly, a network model is defined according to the encounter temporal characteristics between nodes, which follows power distribution, and the spatial characteristics with overlapping communities. Secondly, we put forward the conception of node active community, then explore and choose the active communities, and calculate the community activity of nodes. Thirdly, combining the encounter probability and active community set of nodes, we calculate the transmission probability of nodes to control the message forwarding among overlapping communities. The simulation results show that the proposed routing algorithm can not only improve the delivery ratio, but also reduce the network overhead, compared with traditional routing algorithms, such as Epidemic, PRoPHET, CMOT and CMTS.
