Abstract

This paper examines critical intellectual and social challenges on the emerging frontiers of research in the field of symbiotic systems such as Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Computing. Leaders will need to address these issues as they seek to enhance the application of cognitive technologies to promote human welfare and well-being in an increasingly complex and integrated global society. These leadership issues arise from the social consequences and policy implications of emerging technologies as well as profound intellectual questions on the frontiers of knowledge concerning human consciousness and intelligence.
