Response and Evaluation of Vehicle AR-HUD Assistant System to Risk Cognition
Abstract
In order to improve drivers’ distraction and cognitive load, a prototype of head-up display driver assistance system with augmented reality is proposed. The effectiveness of the system is evaluated from two aspects: objective and subjective, qualitative and quantitative, through the driver’s dangerous cognitive behavior test, semantic difference method and oral analysis method under different visibility conditions. The experimental results show that the AR-HUD system can significantly improve the driver’s response time to dangerous situations under low visibility conditions, and partially verify the effectiveness of the AR-HUD system prototype.
