An L Band Four-Channel Direct Up-conversion Transmitter
Abstract
A RF front end of four-channel direct up-conversion transmitter in $0.13~\\mu \\text{m}$ CMOS process for active phased array antenna was presented in this paper. The prototype integrates four transmit channels, clock module, serial peripheral interface and LDO on a single chip together with an internal local oscillator path. Each channel consists of two fifth order Chebyshev low-pass filters, a double-balance structure active mixer and a power amplifier. A separate bias current for each channel and a set of power modules for each two channels are adopted to improve the isolation performance The experimental results show that the transmitter has channel isolation of 43.3 dB and dynamic gain of 36.3 dB, provides a max power output of 15. 4dBm, when transmit 1.2G-l.4GHz RF signal. The circuit occupies a die area of 3.6mm34837633
