Voltage Dip Mitigation Techniques for Medium-Voltage DC Networks

Abstract

This paper presents a very efficient topology for transient voltage dip mitigation for high power MVDC grids. A dedicated boost converter is combined with a threephase rectifier to form a DC grid, with the advantages of being reliable, applicable for high power applications and dip immune without using energy storage. To describe the operational behavior of power transfer capability, a mathematical model is derived and compared with numerical simulation.
