Mitigation of Power Quality Issues in Distribution Grid Integrated To Photovoltaic-ECS

Abstract

As the renewable energy is easily available in our surrounding, thus power generation from renewable energy sources becomes a prime strategy and it is also cost effective. Photovoltaic-ECS is utilize for active power transfer to load and grid during day time. Three leg voltage source inverter is also use which act as a shunt active filter during night. The power quality issues are the major concern in RES integrated to distribution grid. Various control strategies are given such as stationary reference frame PLL, rotating reference frame PLL, Decouple double synchronous reference frame PLL etc. for enhancement of power quality on grid side. This paper propose a D-αβ PLL scheme which is the combination of Decouple double synchronous reference frame PLL and αβ-PLL. This control includes all advantages of both PLL. Thus, it can be a solution for integrated RES having fault ride through (FRT) capability and maintain system balance in case of asymmetry condition on utility side and reduces the harmonic distortion. It help in synchronization of inverter and grid. The network is simulated in MATLAB environment to prove its fruitfulness.
