Novel Low Power Switch-Count Structure for Medium/High Power Multilevel Inverter
Abstract
Multi-level inverters are a new member of the DC-AC converter family for medium/high voltage/power applications. This paper presents a new topology for generating a step output voltage that requires fewer switches. This single-phase topology can be asymmetric or asymmetric. The proposed topology is expanded modularly. The proposed topology, in addition to offering fewer switches, also has the advantage of switching voltage stress. In addition, a comparison has been made in terms of the number of devices with articles that have similar structures. This comparison shows the superiority of the proposed topology. Finally, the simulation results with MATTLAB software to confirm the proposed topology and control it in symmetric and asymmetric conditions and load changes are included in this paper.
