Design of Waveguide to Suspended Substrate Microstrip Line Transition Based on Quartz Substrate at 330GHz
Abstract
The waveguide-suspension microstrip line transition structure is an important component that can connect millimeter waves and terahertz waves. It is often used in the input and output parts of solid-state frequency multipliers and mixers that generate terahertz waves. This structure has a great impact on the performance of the system. This article designs several rectangular waveguide-suspension microstrip transition structures with a center frequency of 330GHz. The probe transition form is adopted in the transition structure. The feature of this article is to design and simulate different types of probe structures, and to reduce the loss as much as possible on the basis of ensuring a wider output frequency band. Finally, in the passband 310-350GHz frequency band, the return loss is better than 20dB; the insertion loss is less than 0.1dB.
