Abstract

Silicone rubber is widely used in power transmission lines and substations due to its greatly improvement of the anti-pollution flashover performance. However, compared with the traditional ceramic and glass materials, the aging phenomenon such as chalking of silicone rubber materials has become a topic. In this paper, SEM and FTIR tests were carried out on chalking silicone rubber aging on-line in the southeast coastal area. The parameters of micro characteristics such as micro morphology, functional groups and percentage of atoms of chalking silicone rubber was obtained. Finally, the development process of chalking was analyzed.
