Modeling and Fault Characteristic Analysis of an Offshore Multi-Platform Interconnected Power System
Abstract
This paper presents a model and fault characteristics analysis of an offshore multi-platform interconnected power system. The offshore multi-platform interconnected power system is simulated with EMTP-RV simulator. The model shows the characteristics of offshore multi-platform power system. This paper mainly analyzes the fault characteristics of the offshore power system when a three-phase-to-ground fault occurs in the generator platform and load platform, and a single-line-to-ground fault occurs on a submarine cable considering different grounding modes of the medium voltage distribution system. These results could be used to develop new protection method for an offshore multi-platform interconnected power system.
